StarStruck Academy Theatre, the Treasure Coast’s premier children’s theatre, will stage two productions this season. First up is 13, The Musical, which will dazzle audiences March 3-5 . This upbeat pop musical that tells the story of Evan Goldman, a boy grabbling with a move from New York City to small-town Indiana, his parents’ divorce, his impending Bar Mitzvah, and navigating the complicated social circles of a new school.
13 is the only Broadway musical to have an all-teenager cast and band. With music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown, this show will be a conversation starter and a heartfelt reminder of what it means to be thirteen.
StarStruck’s second show is A Chorus Line, which hits the stage April 7-9. This nine-time Tony-winning Broadway blockbuster provides a glimpse into the personalities of the performers and the choreographer, as they describe the events that have shaped their lives and their decisions to become dancers. The play features music by Marvin Hamlisch and lyrics by Edward Kleban.
Tickets are $24.99-$49.99. Thursday and Friday shows for both 13, The Musical and A Chorus Line are at 7 p.m.; Saturday shows are at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
