Emmerdale fans have all said the same thing as Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) was blackmailed by her ex Faye ((Jane Gurentt) in tense scenes.

During Monday's (July 17) episode, Mary received a message from an unknown number asking to meet.

Mary went to meet the mystery person and was thrown to see her Faye looking dishevelled.

Determined to remain steely in the face of her tormentor, Mary was shocked to discover that Faye’s been sleeping in her car.

She was even more thrown when Faye told her she loves her and begged her for a fresh start.

Mary didn't believe Faye's lies and the conversation took a dark turn when the latter attempted to blackmail her former lover.

In possession of a private photo, Faye demanded that Mary either changed her witness statement within 48 hours or she’d send a non-consensual nude photo of her to all her contacts.

Fans of the ITV soap rushed to their keyboards to beg Mary to let Faye send the picture so she'd have another conviction added to her name.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "Mary ought to let fake Faye send the pics. Another crime to slap on her. Nasty."

Another added: "Faye's not very clever she is? She sends them and it'd be more to add to her crimes."

A third person posted: "Mary you need to report her AGAIN for blackmail. because if she DOES send that to ANYONE, she will be going down with revenge porn added to her list of crimes."

While a fourth social media user said: "Now if Faye has nudes or whatever and Mary didn’t know. That another crime added to the list."

Mary and Faye met on a dating app and they got off to a brilliant start.

It was completely devastating for Mary when she realised that Faye was a con artist.

The women’s shelter in Ecuador that Mary was helping to raise money for didn’t actually exist and it was all part of Faye's evil plan to get Mary and others to part with a great deal of cash.

Things escalate further this week when Faye reminds Mary that the clock’s ticking for her to withdraw her statement before she sends out the picture.

Rhona’s in disbelief when she finds Faye smug and unruffled, telling Mary that they can meet the following day to confirm that she’s withdrawn her statement.

Mary’s desperate to stop the photo being sent out and grows increasingly distraught at the prospect as Rhona promises to fix the situation.

Utterly defeated by Faye’s blackmail, Rhona’s heartbroken to see her mum so vulnerable.

Marlon Dingle lets slip that he knows about the blackmail leaving Mary feeling betrayed by Rhona.

When April tells Mary that she’s inspired by her grandma’s truth-telling, Mary’s left guilty about her plan to lie to the police and withdraw her statement to escape Faye’s blackmail.

On her way into the police station to change her statement and exonerate Faye, Mary freezes, totally torn about what to do.

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
