Judy started her journalistic career in 1970 as a news anchor at CBS affiliate WAGA-TV in Atlanta, Georgia. She then entered NBC News and covered in Atlanta about the 1976 U.S. Presidential Campaign of then-governor of Georgia Jimmy Carter in 1975. Judy served as a Chief White House Correspondent for NBC News from 1977 to 1982 and then worked for the program of NBC named The Today Show for a year.
Judy has also worked in the several documentaries including Generation next. She has authored a book named This Is Judy Woodruff at the White House and The Theodore H. White lecture with Judy Woodruff. She currently is on the advisory board of a nonprofit organization, America Abroad Media.
