Muscatine police investigate stabbing | OurQuadCities

The Muscatine Police Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred Thursday night, Jan. 25.

At approximately 7 p.m. last night, a 911 call was received in which the caller stated a man had just been stabbed at the residence of 606 W. 7th St., according to a Friday morning police release. Officers responded to the scene and located a victim, Paul Saravia Lozano, 27, who had a stab wound to his back. A suspect was also located at scene and detained. Lozano was transported to the local hospital and received immediate treatment for his wound.

After additional investigation, it was determined that a family argument had escalated and become violent. The suspect, Guillermo Jimenez Palomar, 64, of 606 W. 7th St., was arrested and charged with two counts of domestic assault and one count of attempted murder. Palomar is being held at the Muscatine County Jail and is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
